OLIVIA DUKE • CITY & REGIONAL COUNCIL • WARD 4
Raise the Standard
for Ward 4
Leadership that listens.
Accountability you can measure.
Follow-through you can count on.
Your Family. Your Voice. Your Burlington.
A CLEAR FOCUS FOR WARD 4
Residents are asking for the basics to work well, responsible decisions about their tax dollars, better communication, and confidence that Burlington is planning ahead as our city grows.
Focused on What Matters Most
01
HOLD THE LINE
ON TAXES
Start the budget at 0%. Find savings and better ways of delivering services before asking residents for more.
02
GET THE
BASICS RIGHT
Reliable roads, parks and infrastructure. Focus on snow clearing, public safety and City services residents can count on.
03
BETTER SERVICE &
COMMUNICATION
Clear service standards and response timelines, so residents know who to contact, when they'll hear back and what happens next.
04
PLAN GROWTH
WITH INFRASTRUCTURE
Plan growth alongside infrastructure. Consider transportation, services, infrastructure capacity and neighbourhood impacts as Burlington grows.
A DIFFERENT STANDARD FOR REPRESENTATION
Residents hear words like accountability, transparency and communication every election.
I believe those words should come with something more: clear commitments you can actually measure.
That’s the idea behind Raise the Standard: tangible commitments that set out what residents could expect from me and how I would report back.
Listening should be the beginning of good representation, not the end of it.
Accountability Should Be More Than a Campaign Word
My First 100 Days
Seven commitments that would guide my first 100 days in office, focused on listening, accountability and getting to work quickly.
A clear plan for what I would do first.
GETTING TO WORK
MEASURABLE ACCOUNTABILITY
Raise the Standard
Specific commitments designed to give residents a clear way to measure my follow-through throughout the term.
Clear expectations. Tangible actions. Public accountability.
RAISE THE STANDARD
The Commitments
Each Standard turns the framework into a specific, measurable commitment residents can follow and hold me accountable to.
01
BUDGET ACCOUNTABILITY
Start the budget process at 0%, identify savings first and clearly explain the decisions that follow.
02
MEASURABLE CITY SERVICES
Set clear service standards and response timelines, with public reporting so residents can see whether they're being met.
03
VISIBLE FOLLOW-THROUGH
Make it easy for residents to see what I’m working on, what’s been done and what comes next.
04
Growth & Infrastructure
Make sure growth is supported by the infrastructure and public safety resources residents need, while considering neighbourhood impacts.
READY TO SERVE
Experience to Do the Work
City Council makes complex decisions about budgets, infrastructure, housing, growth and the services residents rely on every day. Those decisions deserve preparation, sound judgment and practical experience.
01
NEARLY 20 YEARS IN BUSINESS
Leadership, strategy, partnerships, budgets and delivering results across organizations and industries.
02
MASTER OF PUBLIC POLICY
Graduate-level training in public policy, with a specialization in housing policy and a focus on growth, infrastructure and community needs.
03
GOVERNANCE & COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP
Hands-on experience in governance, organizational leadership, strategy and community service across Burlington.
04
WARD 4 EXPERIENCE
A returning Ward 4 candidate who has stayed engaged, continued listening and kept building the experience needed to serve effectively.
Good representation requires more than listening. It means understanding the issues, asking the right questions, making responsible decisions and following through.
Community Leadership in Action
ROOTED IN BURLINGTON
My commitment to Burlington didn't begin with this election. For years, I've worked alongside residents, volunteers, businesses and community organizations to help strengthen the city we call home.
BUILDING COMMUNITY
SERVING OTHERS
LEADING & ORGANIZING
Leadership, to me, has always meant showing up, doing the work and contributing where I can make a difference.
5+ YEARS / 10,000+ Meals Prepared
Weekly service with Meals of Hope at Port Nelson, supporting food security in our community.
150+ Community Partnerships
Part of the team bringing together through the Appleby Line Street Festival & Festival of Lights annually.
$300,000+ Given Back
Community support provided by the Burlington Lions Club in 2025, during my time in Club leadership.
REPRESENTATION STARTS WITH LISTENING
